This story takes place in the exotic Guajira of Colombia. Poncho Daza, an eleven year-old boy, who’s incredibly talented and is such a good person, has two dreams: get an accordion and win over the heart of Sara Maria, the girl of his dreams, who has laid on him the challenge of becoming a great accordion player, capable of composing a song that touches her soul. However, the financial problems of his family demand great effort and won’t let him get the accordion to learn how to play. His father is a male chauvinist, who humiliates him for being left-handed and for his obsession with music.
He also suffers because of Pepe, Sara Maria’s other suitor, who manages to get a beautiful accordion, which he uses to compete with him and captivate the girl. Because of the circumstances, Poncho will be forced to become an adult, but he was born in these lands to become a legend and will be known as “The Accordion’s Angel”.
